Configuring the RDV-1.1
This chapter explains the various settings on the onscreen setup menus. Settings are arranged into six groups:
Picture,
Audio, Language, Display, Operation,
and
Initial Setup
. The following table lists all of the settings, with a brief descrip-
tion and page number where you can find full details. (Certain settings cannot be selected or changed during playback.)

TV Shape
Selects a picture format to match the aspect ratio of your
TV.

Interlaced Setting Picture adjustments for interlaced scanning. 73
Progressive Setting Picture adjustments for progressive scanning. 74
SCART Output Setting (European
model only)
Selects the video format for the SCART output: RGB,
S-Video, or composite.

PAL Output Setting (not North
American models)
Specify how the RDV-1.1 outputs video signals when
playing NTSC discs.

multichannel audio.

Logic Setting
Determines how the built-in Dolby Pro Logic decoder
works.

Setting

Specify which speakers are connected and their sizes, and
enable (on) or disable (off) the Speaker Setting.
Speaker
Distance
On,
Off
Specify the distance between each speaker and the
listener, and enable (on) or disable (off) the Speaker
Distance setting.
Test Tone Adjust individual speaker levels with the test tone.
AV Synchronization Resynchronizes sound and picture. 80
Dynamic Range Control (Dolby
Digital only)
Sets the Dynamic Range function. 81
SACD Audio Setup
Determines how SACD multichannel, 2-channel, and CD
tracks are played.

CD Audio Setup Configures the digital audio outputs for CD or DTS CD. 81
Language
On-Screen Language
Specify a language for the onscreen setup menus and
messages.

Disc Menu Language Specify your preferred language for disc menus. 82
Audio Language Specify your preferred language for soundtracks. 82
Subtitle Language Specify your preferred language for subtitles. 83
Display
On-Screen Display Turns onscreen messages and indicators on and off. 83
On-Screen Display Color Selects a color for onscreen setup menus and messages. 83
Background Selects a background color for when playback is stopped. 83
Screen Saver Sets the Screen Saver. 83
